Hello! My name Lara Czornyj (ch-OR-nee). I'm an artist based in Brighton & Hove. I use a variety of mediums in my work, which is heavily influenced by our deep connection to the natural world and the stories I encounter through my travels. My pieces also reflect my background in dance, and I like to explore the dynamic exchange between movement and personal expression.

 

My most recent work is becoming more experimental, playing with abstract shapes and mark-making, I'm exploring new styles and enjoying the process of finding a new way of creatively expressing. You can follow my journey with this over on Facebook & Instagram.

I have a diploma in Art & Design, and a BA in Set Design for TV & Film. This initially led me to freelance work in art departments for film & television, before taking my art "online," as I spent time travelling around New Zealand, Canada, Australia and Asia. I have some experience as a book illustrator, and most recently as a social media and website content designer, working alongside small UK charities.

When I'm not creating, you'll find me exploring new landscapes, in a dance class, playing music, or on my yoga mat.
